Brian

A simple obituary in the paper cannot possibly cover the facts of the life of my husband, Brian. I'm going to write and grieve here, and I want you to come with me as I attempt to show you his innumerable qualities and talents, and this is just my perspective. I know that each and every person who knew him has a rich perspective of him too.

Brian was a genius. He had the IQ of Einstein, and he was humble about it. Encyclopedic knowledge astounded anyone who met him, yet some never knew that he was SO smart because he chose so wisely when he spoke.

As a child he battled osteomyelitis. He was a kindergartner, stuck in bed, so he read an entire set of encyclopedias. This clearly set him on a path of unusual intellect.

He was a Nebraska man, born in Lincoln, grew up in Omaha, went to high school in Spencer, Iowa after the family left the home state for his dad's new work in traffic control.

Brian was a man of faith. He asked Jesus into his heart as a four-year-old, clearly understanding his need for salvation. Thankfully his mother can tell the sweet exchange of that moment. That faith kept him through his whole life, marked his character, and comforts everyone who ever knew him now, as we are absolutely assured of his existence today with Christ.

He went to Wheaton College, in Wheaton, Illinois and earned a Bachelor's degree in English Literature. He was proactive in forging his own path and joined ROTC his sophomore year. He was commissioned as an Army Officer at his graduation in 1985. He was so happy to pursue a career in the US Military.

It was while being stationed in Augsburg, Germany he met many dear friends, and on a trip to see the tulips in Holland he met me, his future wife. (I was a missionary in Germany)

Brian loved Germany.

When his assignment there ended, we married and started our life together at Fort Polk, Louisiana. Our two oldest children were born there. We moved to Fort Hood, Texas after the birth of our second son.

After over nine years as a field artillery officer Brian chose to go back to school and become an electrical engineer. He earned a degree in engineering, electrical track, from Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa in 1998. Right after graduation our family moved to Minnesota (with four children now in tow) where he began his civilian career in the electric power industry, which he pursued and loved until last week. Our youngest child joined us in Minnesota.

Brian's intellect was so keen. He loved math. He was a judge for MathWorks competitions in the Twin Cities area. He had folders labeled "recreational math" in the filing cabinet. His reading list was beyond belief, and he could quote passages or pithy sayings from practically anything. He knew every verse of practically every old hymn.

Music. Brian played the clarinet in his high school band and the Spencer Municipal Band. He loved the clarinet, but his voice was so beautiful that singing became a passion. He sang in the Wheaton College Men's Glee Club, the Northern Lights Chorale, and the Minnetonka Chorale Society, where he had recently been elected to the governing board. He also sang almost every Sunday at our church, Grace Community Fellowship, as a worship leader up front.

He played church softball, or any softball that he could. He loved watching baseball. No one could have possibly known all the details of baseball like Brian.

Brian became a beekeeper with our daughter back in 2007. He quickly mastered the craft, joined the Minnesota Hobby Beekeepers Association, and served on their board for several years.

Brian rebuilt engines, did all auto maintenance, all handyman jobs, all yard work, all things always ----he was incredibly capable. He cleared our neighborhood in Coon Rapids from sand burrs without chemicals, by hand, because of his love for pollinators and his distaste for invasive weeds!

He was working on burdock and buckthorn out here in the country. He had endless energy for clearing things out.

Brian had a servant heart. No request for help was ever turned down. I never needed anything because Brian was so able to make it happen. This is not an exaggeration.

We loved going to the homeschooling conferences in Minnesota each spring. We both loved books, so we often spent hours perusing the used book sales area where we both indulged our thing for books. Homeschooling was a great excuse to stock up on books wherever we went. He always indulged my own wishes for art supplies, yarn, and pets (particularly Corgis) too. Faithful man, he never forgot to celebrate our special days.

He wrote the best love letters.

Brian was the best home-schooling dad. He only ever gave support. One of his favorite sayings was, "better late than early," and "somethings are too important to leave to the experts."

Those of you who knew Brian can probably hear him reciting his favorite quotes or quips like that. He had an apt word for any situation.

What did he love? His family! He LOVED our children. God gave us five amazing children, and they were his delight. He loved music. Brian had such a tender heart and was deeply moved by beautiful music. He loved history and books, math and science. I have never met anyone else so much like a "Renaissance Man" we read about in history.

He was eminently capable of just about anything. He was careful and kind to everyone. He expected highest standards from himself, and from others, and his quality control was always perfection. He drew great satisfaction from a job well done, and especial pleasure from a particularly tricky solution for a pressing problem.

He was a deep thinker, and we discussed politics, theology and Bible prophecy ALL THE TIME.

In our marriage I see a picture of a wrist watch. Brian was the workings of the watch, humming and ticking, making things work on every level. I was the case and band. Necessary, but only complete with the functioning springs and dials within. We were a pair. Brian and Con. Thirty years, amazing memories.

I don't know how life on earth will go on without him. Today I cannot even think of it, so I'm remembering his amazing abilities and his truly astounding presence in all of our lives. I haven't listed half of it here. Most of you know that. The funeral home asked for a little more information about his likes and hobbies, etc.

I looked at the director with shock. How can you summarize a life so well lived?

Last summer, when our daughter  hiked the Pacific Crest Trail, Brian was thrilled to join her in California for a week of hiking. He caught the hiking bug. He trained and prepped.

He was set on a new interest of trail hiking, and our trip to visit our daughter in New Hampshire provided the opportunity for him to hike a very small section of the Appalachian Trail. It's a very nice section, famous, and scenic. Many people frequent that section. Was there any hint of anything negative to come from it? No.

It was in that beautiful place, with fellow hikers, that Brian went to be with his true savior, Jesus Christ. I know without a doubt that he stepped into glory and he'd never want to return-----he met his truest and best love face to face. We all loved Brian, but Jesus was number one for him, and that was perfectly right. What comfort that brings me!

We live the appointed days. God knows them already. I still say that to myself when my heart sinks in heaviness and grief. Somehow that brings the deepest comfort. God holds us. He knows us. He LOVES us.

Brian would want you to join him with Jesus someday. Can you make that eternal transaction even today if you've been putting it off?

One of his quirks was ordering discount Bibles. We were both partial to KJV, but he did take Greek and German in college, so any translation that was consistent with the Septuagint and the Textus Receptus was okay. I have stacks of Bibles to give away, and I know Brian, in his heart of hearts wanted people to know Jesus from the Bible. I'm happy to give you a copy! What can I do with all of these Bibles?!! They were meant to give away!

Brian. Amazing man, all around, to everyone who knew him.

Miss Billie Jackson down in Leesville, LA, a good friend who has also gone on to Jesus, said once: "When I see Brian I just imagine that he is exactly how God made Adam."

Yes, Miss Billie. Brian was extraordinary.

I cannot fathom my own loss.

Dear Ones

The girls and I have had three days of driving and grieving.

Last week we left Minnesota to see Margaret's new job and home farming in New Hampshire. My husband, lover of all things, really, was excited to hike a small section of the Appalachian Trail for the day, the part close to where the old man of the mountain rock face that adorns all NH roadsigns existed.
We had a short hike the first day all together at a popular hiking spot. The next day we drove to the ocean in Maine, walked around the lighthouse in Portland, and dipped our feet in the ocean. What a wonderful day! We all slept well that night!
Brian was up early on Thursday, excited and happy, kissed me goodbye, took Margaret to work at the farm in her car and was off on the trip to hike before the real heat set in.
I had our car.
I got the call you cannot ever imagine mid-morning while Cherie and I were brunching at Margaret's farm.
It was all over, already.
Brian had hiked up three miles and had a heart attack that took him to be with Jesus.
There were no mistakes.
This popular trail had several good Samaritans who valiantly tried CPR for over an hour. The effort to get him back down the mountain was significant, and the rescue team was wonderful. I spoke with the kindest officer.

The autopsy revealed a very damaged heart. He was otherwise in perfect health. My husband, so perfect in almost all ways.

Our hearts are broken. At this point we have been slowly driving and grieving back to Minnesota. Many conversations with God.

I have not had the opportunity to make any cogent plans, but I do know what Brian wanted, and I'm going to try to do as much as I can to make that happen.

Death in the time of Covid is unfair. It is different. I ask for your understanding as we navigate these complications.

I will write more about things, and Brian, as I have time.

Right now I ask for your prayers for me, and my children. My oldest son has been deployed and will be coming home. We are trying to keep things very small and close because of timing and Covid.

Please be understanding. I know many of you are grieving with us, still in shock, unable to process our monumental loss of husband, son, father, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, colleague, friend.

And Brian was a friend to all.

Our comfort is Christ. Our hope is heaven. Brian is with Jesus.

When I would talk about heaven he usually responded in glad voice: eye hath not seen, nor ear heard!!

Brian's eyes see and his ears hear.

Resurrection day is coming SOON!

MARANATHA!!!

See you soon, lover-dove.

MUST Watch

What it Boils Down To

Watching the events of the last 6 months, starting with the horrible Australian fires in January, I have been increasingly aware of the truth of Scripture and its claims.

We are seeing things that are "unprecedented" as life moves on.

Those that poo-poo ANYTHING that is "unusual" as a claim that Biblical prophecy is being fulfilled are increasingly admitting that perhaps SOMETHING is going on in our world.

Those of us watchers are completely enthralled with the prospect of seeing Jesus soon.

That is what it is all about.

Scripture is true. When you have abandoned the "Critical Theory" (Marxist/Jesuit) view you are left with the bare facts of the Word of God, unarguable, indisputable, face value, truth.

That is where I stand.

I'm not immune from theology, and though I have a low opinion of it I recognize its necessity. Doctrine matters.

I know we are products of our upbringing, and mine, thankfully, was one of "Dispensationalist Light."

It's the theological view that makes the most sense BIBLICALLY.

Get a copy of a systematic theology like Charles Ryrie's, or Wayne Grudem's. Tell me your arguments against them and I will likely have a pretty good response, not because I'm so smart, but because this view is so easy to defend and understand.

Isn't systematic a trigger word these days?  Wait------systemic-----that's the word.

Systemic racism. Sin that you cannot forgive or escape.

Sounds like the human condition, right? We are all born in sin.

We all need to repent. Until the world finds Jesus there will be systemic sin: pornography, hatred, anger, pride, gluttony, ----name your favorite besetting sin.

And there are just too many people in love with their sin and willing to redefine God to dwell in it instead of repenting.

Satan is certainly a powerful foe, but one must die to self if there is any hope of defeating him. That and complete and full trust in God.

Admit
Believe
Confess ----Repent

Simple, yet profound, the answer to all of life's questions for all people, everywhere.

God's Word IS true, and you can test it infinitely. You can't change it, though, and that is the problem with "Critical Theory." It tries to bring Marxism into the scope and sequence of Christianity and that simply doesn't fit.

I see those that I care for blinded by their own idolatry. They think they are following Christ, but they are following a figment of their imagination: an idol.

God does not condone sin in any form, and if you are justifying it you are in mortal danger.

God forgives, but you must confess and repent from your sin!

The theology of the hyper-grace movement (no repentance) is problematic. I loved someone who adhered to that and I wonder if he is in heaven to this day. Only God knows. I hope.

Why would you gamble on your eternal life?

I guess theology does matter, but knowing Scripture and OBEYING it is probably safer ground to stand on. Understanding Christ's commands is key to living a life that loves Jesus.

"He that keeps my commands, he it is that loves me."

Have you ever thought of doing a study on Christ's commands? Several people have written studies on them. I encourage you to find one of those studies or do your own research in Scripture. Jesus did give lots of direction.

Wouldn't you consider His words? His suggestions-----his commands?

There isn't a lot of time left. We are facing the last days. America is disappearing from the narrative, just like Bible prophecy indicates, and we are gone like a puff of smoke or a lily of the field.

That's Biblical.

Are you ready to see Jesus? Are you ready for Justice?

(By the way, don't qualify that word. There is no need. Justice is coming, and justice is God's)

Why aren't you sharing Christ?
Why aren't you sharing Scripture?
Why aren't you watching? (Watching for Jesus earns a literal crown in heaven. It's the easiest crown to receive! Why wouldn't you try for it?! My friend and I laugh-----at least we've got that one!)

If you knew that Jesus was coming today, what would you do?

People need the LORD, and you need to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with EVERYONE.

Don't be afraid. The Holy Spirit will stand with you, filling you with His power and His words!

You must share out of love for Christ!

Don't you know that Jesus is the only answer to racism, the world's problems, your own sin-sick soul?

REPENT!

And watch......

He is coming SOON!

Socialism in Minnesota

http://www.genealogia.fi/emi/art/article176e.htm

Much discussion of Marxism lately with Black Lives Matter and Antifa.

My dad studied history at the University of Minnesota. He has three degrees. He loves history, and he knows Minnesota like no other human alive, I believe.

Anyone who talks to him is amazed at his encyclopedic knowledge of each and every small town in the state. Having built concrete towers all over the landscape---grain silos on dairy farms---he knew the state back before roads were popular.

He taught at the agricultural school in Crookston, where I was born, for almost ten years. That school is now a part of the University of Minnesota system. He taught history, and speech (!).

An interesting conversation came up the other day. My friend was getting groceries up north and she was surprised to find Finnish butter at the little store, as well as other Scandinavian goodies. She later watched a documentary on Communism that mentioned a Finnish Bolshevik Immigration to northern Minnesota in the last century.

I brought it up to my dad, who immediately said, "Of course! They have a political party and they always have a communist running for president on the ballot."

Our history lessons have failed us. Perhaps the movement isn't so significant, but that communist faction is alive and well with offspring up north.

As we have seen with Trevor Louden's documentaries, the communist party is full of politicians, educators, and pastors, all living right here under our noses, all quietly tweaking public policy in favor of socialism/Marxism/communitarianism/social justice/progessivism/democratic socialism....the list goes on.

Black Lives Matter: is this REALLY about racism? I think not. It is about Marxism.

Antifa? Marxist.

The world is uneducated about the horrors of communism. People don't read anymore. I read the Gulag Archipelago when I was pretty young. I was awakened to the horrors of communism early. I went to a Farm Bureau camp up north that was virtually an anti-communist tirade. Each speaker spoke of the horrors of Marxism.

I know communism kills.

As an educator with a degree in education from the University of Minnesota I am completely aware of the Marxist influence in education. It's all there.

Many of the teachers at my little country school district were Marxists. They are teaching all the young ones, molding them into social justice warriors.

The influence is everywhere.

I mentioned before that my physics prof at the University of Minnesota, back in 1983, stood up the first day of class and announced that he was going to be teaching "the Marxist View of Physics!"

I thought he was joking. No, he was not. He was a dyed-in-the-wool communist!

I found his obituary later in the archives of the Minneapolis Star/Tribune. He was a member of the communist party here in Minnesota----little Stalinist Russia.

I wonder how many Russian immigrants are really communists. Our state is full of immigrants!

Marxism is slowly squeezing the life out of us, and we are falling in droves as we see the riots of 2020 take over.

It won't be long now.

We, the unwelcome ones who value free enterprise and free markets, individual freedom and the pursuit of happiness----we will be defeated.

But we know this. Prophecy predicted it.

AND we know who ultimately wins. GOD WINS.

The constitutional republic only works when God is a part of it. Atheism demands communism.

Look at Russia. Look at China. How's that working out?

Look at Cuba, Venezuela, Vietnam, and the Socialist Governments of Europe.

Where is the freedom?

Where is the faith?

I see so much "Lord of the Rings" imagery as these days unfold. I am no longer a big fan of Tolkien as I have heard he was associated with the "Golden Dawn" and all of its occult connections, but there were certainly images in his work that suggested such horrors of being taken over by fascists and/or communists.    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hermetic_Order_of_the_Golden_Dawn

The imagery is no longer fiction. I saw Minneapolis burn.

Did you know that homes were destroyed and burned even as businesses were looted? People lost everything.

This is Marxism.

Can we possibly bring our society back from the brink?

I think not, pessimist that I am. God's timeline is marching on, and His prophecies will be fulfilled.

My leftist "friends" are deluded by a spirit of lies. They actually believe in a goodness of human nature.  God says we are desperately wicked-----the heart is. There is none righteous. Not one.

Human nature will be the downfall of all societies. Sin is the downfall of all mankind.

Get on the boat! The flood is coming!!

Only Jesus Saves.

Taste of Normalcy

God ordained the Sabbath for man, and yesterday was one much needed.

We got up and went to church, had communion, and drove back home to home-made carnitas burritos, made as much like Chipotle's as possible.

We have been out to eat seldom, even drive-through or take-out, since February. We used to stop at "The Club" (Costco) for lunch on Sundays where often we ate with friends from our old neighborhood in the northern suburbs of Minneapolis.

Minneapolis.

George Floyd.

Covid-19.

On Friday I had some friends out to go see the peony farm west of our home now. We admired the acres of blooms----whites, pinks, reds, magentas, yellows! Gorgeous works of art that God created. Is the peony not the king of flowers? It rivals none for scent and glory.

I picked six blooms from my own peonies for the dining room table today.

My mom has had a bouquet on her dining room table that should be painted and put in the Minneapolis Institute of Art: white and hot pink peonies, white and hot pink bleeding heart. I'll ask her to text me a photo, perhaps to post here. It was fleetingly glorious.

Yesterday we ate fresh rhubarb custard pie (Millie Pipal's recipe) and sat in a breezy porch. My parents' porch is open to the west, ours is protected on the east. It's nice to have variation.

As we sat there, there arose a clatter in the porch fireplace chimney. That fireplace was used once, I think, and the house started on fire, so it's not the best for actual fires. It's cute on the porch, though. The clatter was obviously made by some trapped critter.

My husband stepped up to the plate as the one to investigate. Not a squirrel, but a bird----large----a raptor? The damper inhibited a direct rescue, so he opened it up and we sat in the breezy sunset glow and chatted until !!!!

Out dropped a female wood duck.

It was injured slightly, but it flew some, and we all directed it toward the door to the yard. Off it flew, low, and then landed and waddled into the north-side wooded area. I will look for it later to see if it needs more assistance.

Such a beautiful bird, trapped, unable to get out of the steep chimney. Further investigation revealed that it had probably been there some time. My dad keeps a wire enclosure on the top of the chimney, but it was missing, and will have to be replaced. Why do wood ducks like chimneys?! This is not the first one to be rescued here.

Why do we all have this tendency toward destruction?

Godless society is not a place to want to exist, but we know we are already there. Human nature is evil, and those who think it possible to create morality outside of God's dictates are sorely mistaken.

Socialism kills. Communism fails. Marxism seeps into everything via Satanic influence.

The veneer of Marxism is doing good-----but it destroys in the end.

The beautiful month of June is here. The greens and spots of flower color are abundant. How long, Oh Lord?

I stand outside at night with Corwyn and look up at the stars. The signs in the heavens point to a soon rescue of the church. I hope so. Normalcy seems to be fleeting lately, whatever normal was or is.

We are well. We are content. We have what we need. We have hope.

I've been switching my globalist textbook reading to more Christian literature lately. School is finished for the semester. I wonder how next fall will look.

I lost over 60 jobs substitute teaching this past spring and I wonder how subbing will look in the fall. The loss of income is, of course, felt, but I still have my job at the hotel. That started back up after a month. I have to follow all the sanitizing rules strictly, and it's doable.

Here we are, with a reset button all done up with a bright bow! A gift to the world, to fulfilling prophecy. Everything is different, a new order is already in place.

So what does a Bible-believer do? We pray for our children, we pray for those who do not know Jesus. We look up and listen for that SHOUT! We pray for mercy and strength. We pray for God's protection. We pray for the blind sheep that clamor for order in all the wrong places.

We pray. We encourage. We watch.

We wait.

The new normal.

Thrilling

It's a wonderful thing to see people repenting from racism!

One of my own kids revealed her white supremacist views to pals on Instagram this week and she repented!

Thankful that she checked that horrible sin in the bud. Even if you teach your children truth from Scripture false ideas and sin can so easily creep in from so many worldly sources! Racism is always sin.

Repentance is a good thing for sin. Encourage your kids, your friends, anyone to repent.

TIME IS SHORT! Repent!

Dallas Holm - Jesus Knows Your Hurt

Warfare, Spiritual

I don't like to write at night, but today has been interesting and I feel the need to vent about the world for a few minutes.

After all, today is a significant day. My husband actually mentioned the possibility of his being called up to active duty looking like, well, a possibility. It would probably take an act of congress, and he is pretty old right now, but with the way things are going in our world WHO KNOWS?!

I don't have my head in the sand, but I am not watching ANY of the letter channels on television. I refuse to be a fear-monger, and I think the mainstream media are very complicit with promoting fear. That said, I DON'T want to inflict fear, but awareness.

I really think we are going to see a time of spiritual mayhem until the Rapture.

So how are you going to deal with it?

Spiritual warfare is something hinted at in Scripture. Jesus dealt with it, gave us a glimpse of it in his conversations with Satan after his fasting period. Jude mentions Michael, the angel, in a struggle----not of flesh and blood.

I don't understand the heavenly battles. I can only imagine them, but I think they are ramping up right now. I see people who I think should know better approving looting, rioting, and theft. Their thinking is really off.

I saw a meme of Jesus overturning the tables in the temple justifying the looting and destruction. Can people be so misguided and blind to the truth of Scripture to accuse Jesus of such sin?

Jesus was pitching out those who did not belong there. The money-changers and sellers of animals were NEVER supposed to be in the temple. Jesus was policing the area for His Father's purposes!

I wrote about racism yesterday. This rioting we are seeing isn't really about racism. Peaceful protests are the veneer for a Marxist-driven movement to take down the USA. We who have studied this philosophy recognize it for what it really is: don't let a crisis go to waste.

Fascism and communism are cut from the same cloth. Both want total control, both are godless, both are oppressive. Antifa is organizing the mayhem that is forcing President Trump to use a more forceful means of protection for the American people.

https://prod-cdn-static.gop.com/media/documents/DRAFT_12_FINAL[1]-ben_1468872234.pdf

Take a minute to go over the Republican Platform 2016, the one that I voted for that year. I had no good opinion of Donald Trump (I do now!) but I agreed with this platform almost wholly. I voted for it. Donald Trump was a wild card, and I've been amazed at all he has done with a horrible opposition the entire length of his time in office. It's remarkable. I think he is actually going after real criminals at the highest levels. I think he has exposed some awful realities about government and its tentacles of corrupt power. He's not yet a globalist, not part of the Deep State, and he's been doing wonders implementing pro-life legislation and getting fair, constitutional judges into key positions.

Remarkable.

If he is really the Antichrist, (as I've heard some suggest) duping us all who look for the spiritual side of everything, he's certainly checking off all the right boxes for Christians who identify as conservative. Believers don't need to worry about identifying the Antichrist since we'll be gone by then. Those that come to Christ after the Rapture may benefit from learning how to recognize him. I think the angels in Revelation 14 will warn those who are still softened to following Christ.

But now, in the present we see the apostasy of the church on full display.

I've watched the last of the Bible Belt drift left over the past 3 decades. Social Justice, Sustainability, Mindfulness, Race Theory, are all code for LEFT.

Don't be taken in by the shibboleth of the intellectual elite. They use these code words to identify each other and talk condescendingly to the old-fashioned fundamentalists who simply believe God in His Word and take Him seriously. We don't try to define God in our own image, but we believe His own account.

I identify with the awkward folk who simply believe, who look for Jesus, and who see the hope for the world in Christ alone. I know too many would-be-do-gooders who do nothing but criticize us Bible "nerds" for sticking to Scripture.

We are looking for the face of Jesus, who loves us in all of our awkward geekiness. After all, rejection drives us to the one who truly loves.

When you've found Him you cannot leave. His love is too sweet, too wonderful, to compromise.

No, we are not "cool." We are the equivalent of the thralls that have mud on their faces, despicable, maligned. We are called names and made fun of.

Yes, it smarts, it stings. But we're used to it. We know a transformation is coming. All of our sins will be forgotten, our blemishes and stains removed----

We win, spiritually.

It is this driving force, more powerful beyond any other, that motivates us to share the power and love of Jesus Christ. He is coming soon. He has shed His blood for your sin.

Precious story, never old, always relevant.

The demons are clawing at your spiritual eyes and ears. They do not want you to answer the prompting of the Holy Spirit. He prompts. You must answer. He knocks, you must open the door.

The protection of Christ and his angelic hosts await you. Warfare may be raging this week, but you are covered in God's protection. He knows your days. He ordained them. Will you trust Him with your time here on earth?

It's like six seconds compared to eternity. Can you give him your seconds?

Truly, I believe Jesus is coming for His bride VERY SOON. I hope so, at the very least. Are we not ready for Him? He loves you, dear one!

Is your house in order? (I'm always behind on that!)

Who needs to be shaken into spiritual truth? Who do you need to tell?

I've spent my whole life trying to let people know. My heart aches at the persistent blindness all around me, both from people who profess to be followers of Jesus and those who reject Him outright. It's hard to see that. I get it.

Jesus knows the hurt. Jesus know the need. (Dallas Holme had a song about that)

Maybe I'll try to find that song for you tonight.

Come, Lord Jesus. Even so, come quickly.

Justification

I can imagine just about everyone is struggling today. The news is full of bad. Our hearts are broken over the civil war that is plaguing our dear United States.

I'm one of those who believes it's really about Marxism versus Free Market, and racism (though totally an issue, and also a sin) is just the veneer for the deeper narrative.

Antifa is a Marxist group. They don't try to hide that. They do not care about our skin color anymore than the man in the moon does! They have their agenda, and they use the most opportunistic vehicles to implement the agenda.

As the country gradually opens up from Covid-19 they are seizing the advantage of distress and stirring the pot of rebellion.

They really hate us.

Hate is a sin. Remember the seven deadlies: pride, anger, lust, gluttony, sloth, envy, and greed. Hate hangs around anger. We are not to hate people, (it is psychological murder) but we can hate sin.

Racism is a form of hatred toward each other. It's manufactured superiority. All men are equal, in Christ there is neither Jew, nor Greek, slave or free, male or female. The Jew nor Greek part refers to people groups, and we are all the same in God's eyes. Yes, the Jewish people have a special place, as Jesus was Jewish, and when they kept their end the of covenant God prospered them. God isn't finished with the Jewish people yet. The upcoming seven-year tribulation has everything to do with them.

My maiden name is Jewish, and my brothers and I could pass for Jewish. We are not, but there have been many times when we were treated like we were Jewish, especially in Israel. I know there is a special love for the Jewish people, and God has not forgotten them.

One time a person accused me of racism, many years ago, because I had disciplined her child (within the boundaries of policy) in the classroom. I was horrified. I went straight to the principal and told her of the accusation.

She looked at me and asked, "How many _____ children are in your classroom?"

"I don't know!" I said desperately....

"You're not racist," she flatly stated.

"What?"

"You're not racist. You would have been so conscious of race in your classroom, if you were racist, that you would have immediately known that number. You are operating as a teacher who cares about each child and treats them as they each need. "

I am NOT a racist. I don't even BELIEVE in race. We are one race, HUMAN.

Do I believe there is a KKK and people who think they are better just because they have a certain color of skin? Of course. Racism is a real sin, and it's painful and destructive. The KKK, like all other secret societies, are evil to the core.

If you get a chance, watch "Amazing Grace." This movie is so good. We watched it during the lock-down in March. I had seen it a few years ago, but I liked it so much more the second time. Slavery was abolished by Christians in England. It took decades, but it started a movement that spread to the USA and the Civil War ignited. I know the Civil War was about states' rights, but slavery was given a death blow. Racism and segregation were not defeated, but slavery was.

Martin Luther King JR attempted to and succeeded at calling out racism and inequality. The battle was not won, but there have been incremental advances over the years. This generation abhors racism more than any other for quite some time, I believe. I wish we could focus on the advances.

But no. There will always be those who MUST focus on race. This is a form of racism, too, and it is insidious. Critical Race Theory says there is no way to overcome racism. None. It's hopeless.

Thankfully God doesn't believe in Critical Race Theory. HE values us all the same!

I love my brothers and sisters who love Jesus NO MATTER WHAT COLOR THEY ARE, or how much melanin is in their skin! What a stupid reason to love or not love someone!

I love culture, tradition, the nations, the colorful and beautiful variety of people God ordained through the human genetic code. This is God's creation, His doing, and He rejoices over THE NATIONS!

Racism and hate have no place in God's creation. Racism is of the devil's kingdom, and he does have a kingdom. It's right here on earth.

Sin is not justifiable in any way, and the devil really knows how to foment sin. We've seen racism, sin, over the past week. We've also seen destruction and theft, bullying and evil. All sin.

This is not justifiable.

Let's not lose the ground we've gained in coming together as ONE RACE. We all know that Jesus is coming for all of us soon.

We also can be certain that the devil loves confusion, hatred, and racism. He loves to see God's people hate each other and hurt each other.

Who are you pleasing? God? The devil?

Ask yourself and get right in your spirit. There is no justification for sin, any sin. Do you need a list to help you remember what sin is? Try the ten commandments first. They are pretty inclusive.

Don't fall into a trap that causes you to hate and destroy. Acknowledge sin and be compassionate toward the sinner. They are blinded until the Holy Spirit opens their eyes. Jesus has been knocking on the door of the sinner's heart all along.

As with any sin there must be spiritual power to overcome. Jesus paid the price for sin on the cross and the Holy Spirit offers each of us the strength to overcome sin every day in our lives.

Use that power. What a deal!

LOVE ONE ANOTHER.

I know time is short, dear ones. What have I been saying for years?
If you confess your sin and believe in your heart YOU WILL BE SAVED!  Repent now.

MARANATHA!

As a note, to those of you who connect with me on social media: this week offered me the opportunity to see which of you justified sin in one way or another. I've become less tolerant on social media, but I still love you anyway. A few weeks ago I posted about something changing for me----no more arguing, just a forging ahead with the good news and looking for Christ's rapture. I don't want to wound my own soul with your intolerance or your justification of sin. I still love you, but I can tell we do not need to be social media pals. I would hope that you would call me out when you see sin in my life, too. We do need each other.
