CH, you know I disagree. And I do love Jesus. I have been with my wife for 13 years now. We had the privilege of marrying in Minneapolis in 2013. We purposely married in the Church because it was important to both of us to express our vows before our God. And, yes, I know we will disagree.
I don't see how our marriage in any way affects the marriage of others. It is not an attack on biblical marriage, as Christians see it. (Even though we know that the current push for biblical marriage isn't how marriage was in the Bible.)
What I do see is that there is a difference between Holy Matrimony and civil marriage. Holy Matrimony, which is a sacrament of the Church, professed in Church, blessed by a minister. Civil marriage is a process of the government, providing licensing, without concern or notice of religious sacrament.
I promise you that my marriage does not affect others, except that they must treat me as the treat others. I hope the Church, even though this goes against their sensibilities, will learn to accept gays and lesbians as those who can love God just as others do.
