Only what's done for Christ will last."

Daily Bible Reading

There is nothing so helpful in normal life as having a time each day to read God's Word.

I can honestly testify that God speaks directly to my spirit every time I read Scripture, and my heart becomes full of His truth, inspiring me, teaching me, coaching me, helping me.

Today we read in Ephesians about the armor of God.

It relates to the spiritual warfare that Satan wages against all of us. I certainly don't believe that I am of much consequence spiritually, so his attacks on me are pretty minimal. But they are there. I do have the proverbial Achilles heel.

When Satan attacks it is absolutely necessary to "put on Christ." We need to steep ourselves in His teachings, His values, His righteousness.

Ephesians 5  New King James Version (NKJV)

Walk in Love

Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.
But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints; neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks. For this you know,[a] that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore do not be partakers with them.

Walk in Light

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of the Spirit[b] is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), 10 finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. 11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. 12 For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. 13 But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light.

Walking in love and light requires some specific behaviors. Here in Ephesians  5 we have the "manual" for this.

We need to be imitators of God. We need to forsake evil. We must follow Christ.

Encouraging words from the One who knows all.

It is a joy to follow Him.

Quote:

"If Christ is risen, nothing else matters. If Christ is not risen, nothing else matters."
- Jaroslav Pelikan, Yale professor and scholar

Gotta Laugh, You Know!

When life gives you lemons, you MAKE LEMONADE!

Funny things this weekend. I'm in a stretch of intense scheduling, even for me. I had to forgo my favorite prophecy conference this past weekend in lieu of THREE family events----all the same day. Because they all had to do with my precious children it was completely fine.

And our choir concert was fun. That was yesterday.

I also got a new hairstyle. My best friends kindly told me it took 20 years off. My "enemies" hate it :) I'm chuckling.

I was reading "Anne of the Island" to Ed and Cherie today. It happened to be the chapter where Philippa Gordon comes down the stairs in yellow silk asking if she looked pretty.

Which of course she did, and Anne kindly complimented her. She did look pretty! Philippa responded that what she loved especially about Anne was her generosity toward others in the way of promoting their image, without rancor or envy. What a little window on human interaction.

Taylor Swift sang a song called, "Mean." People can bully in many different ways, and criticism gets hard to take when it is ladled out often. When you are on a daily diet of criticism one over-the-top comment can take you to the point of vomit. Swift captured that moment, "Why ya have ta be so mean?"

Bully-ers----take note: It doesn't really matter what you think. It only matters what God thinks in the end. His creations, you and me, are in a perpetual state of reaching His grace or judgement. Get the big things right-----those things that matter to God. Righteousness, love, peace, kindness, and truth.

And we will learn to laugh at ourselves, our predicaments, our troubles.

On to the next thing, with love in our hearts.

Events!!!

My husband and I are hosting an open house in honor of our two oldest sons being commissioned in the U.S. Army.

If you would like to attend this event please leave me a message in the comments. We would love to meet you!

How to Respond to a Troll

The on-going joke around here is that I am a troll, leftover from the olden times, ready to pounce on any unsuspecting child and tickle them until they cry for mercy.

Those days are over. Trolls stink.

 Google Images

They are creepy, mean, and spiritually dark.

Trolls that comment on articles of a spiritual nature are also creepy, mean and spiritually dark. Have you noticed?

Today there is news that a popular Christian artist thinks gay marriage is okay. There was also news of a well known Christian church slipping into unbiblical territory, making excuses for it and leaving the fold of orthodoxy.

It's happened before.

It is these very things that have clearly defined my own faith, and my own interpretation of the Bible. I've talked a lot about idolatry this past year.

Idolatry is rampant right now. Making up a god that we like, or one that winks at sin seems to be the most popular thing to do these days.

Satan has many demons/trolls arguing with well-meaning believers about clear Biblical standards regarding sex and sin.

So how should a believer respond? First of all, lovingly. We are always called to love. Secondly, state what Scripture states. Quote a verse. You needn't provide a treatise! Simply back up your position with the Word of God. Thirdly, "Shake the dust from your feet." Remember this little caveat in the New Testament? The Lord doesn't want us to argue, and arguing never works. If the spirit doesn't respond to Scripture and Godly reason, that is not our problem!

Yes, we grieve over those who don't accept Christ, the Christ of the Bible, but the Lord grieves more, and He doesn't force anyone to accept Him. It is a decision each person has to make.

The Lord says to leave it alone. Shake off that dust. Go on. Leave.

We are given a picture of running TO Christ, and we know Christ through His Word. How else are we going to learn of Him?

When you look for revelation contrary to Scripture you have crossed over into idolatry. There are warnings and danger signs throughout Scripture concerning this.

That someone refuses to believe TRUTH from the Word of God is really not YOUR problem. It is THEIR problem. You, dear believer, brother or sister in Christ, are called to serve HIM. HE commands US to LOVE.

There is the circle and mission of our lives. Love. Proclaim. Serve. Give. Help. Teach. Shine.

Let the dead bury the dead. Those who justify sin and think they are "good enough" to get to heaven will have a sad awakening in eternity.

True belief loves God.

Lots of demons out there. They are masking as trolls. Let the trolls be. God can deal with trolls...

Pre-Marital Sex

Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unrighteous, and not before the saints? Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world will be judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Do you not know that we shall judge angels? How much more, things that pertain to this life? If then you have judgments concerning things pertaining to this life, do you appoint those who are least esteemed by the church to judge? I say this to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you, not even one, who will be able to judge between his brethren? But brother goes to law against brother, and that before unbelievers!
Now therefore, it is already an utter failure for you that you go to law against one another. Why do you not rather accept wrong? Why do you not rather let y bioourselves be cheated? No, you yourselves do wrong and cheat, and you do these things to your brethren! Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals,[a] nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.

1 Corinthians 6:1-11 NKJV

I've been thinking about Marcus Bachmann's talk at MACHE last weekend. He mentioned his experience with premarital counseling over the years. Decades ago when premarital sex was mentioned the counselees hung their heads in shame. They knew it was wrong. Today the young unmarried folk have no idea it's against God's perfect order.

Does the fault lie with them or the teaching church? Let's stop blaming young people for their lack of knowledge and hold the Church responsible for not teaching the truths to enable godly living.

I admit that I struggle with the writings of the apostle Paul. They don't go down easy. They don't soothe my spirit. Sometimes they actually agitate me and I argue against him. I admit this. I don't like what he says.

But I don't dismiss it. I wrestle with it, ultimately trusting that he is right. He knew Christ.  The Church must wrestle with and teach all of Scripture. Apostacy is only a generation away.

Dewey Won't Win

Good Morning! Today the taxes are done, the snow is flying outside, it's the middle of the week, and I have a lot on my mind.

No wonder.

Just home from the annual home schooling conference we attended in Duluth, MN.  MACHE. I'll get to John Dewey by the end of this...

I got to hear Greg Harris, Marcus Bachmann, and John Tuma speak. I also picked up some fascinating material.

I posted a link to a new documentary last night. This is an amazing story of what is going on in public schools---all over America.

Of course we saw the "blood moon," thanks to a black lab/retriever mutt who needed "out" at 2:50 am! I'm so thankful for Blackberry, because I wasn't intending to see it. I was so glad she got me up. It was beautiful hanging there in the sky, reddish, in conjunction with the star-like planets around it.

I've seen lunar eclipses before, but this one IS special, the beginning of a tetrad. This eclipse occurred on Passover, the next one will be on the feast of Tabernacles, and again next Passover and Tabernacles two more occur. Four red moons in a 365 day period. Every time that has happened in the last 1,000 years something significant has happened to the Jewish people. God's chosen.

God never forgets His promises. His covenants are forever. The Jewish people will soon see their Messiah.

Jesus is coming again!

There is excitement among the believers, and everyone who trusts Christ can feel it!

The world, blinded spiritually, will continue merrily down its path to destruction, and we will stand firm in our faith in Christ, watching the events of prophecy unfold before our eyes! I know, I write about this all the time. Can't help it. It's just so wonderful!

It may require intense persecution on our part. After all, the believers in north Africa, the Middle East, and the Far East are going through horrors for their faith.

I must encourage you to check out Walid Shoebat's web sites. You will recoil at what you see, but people must know what is happening! I take comfort that those dear brothers and sisters in Christ receive special reward from our Father in heaven, and the grace to endure their pain.

It is a question we must grapple with ourselves. Can I endure to the end?

The Bible indicates that few will.

It's really hard to take a stand in the face of pain. I pray I can. I pray my loved ones can.

Lord Jesus, Come Quickly! Maranatha!

A few impressions of the three speakers I heard at MACHE:

Greg Harris: wonderful message! Greg spoke on seasons of life. He encouraged believers to obey the Lord because of the BLESSINGS that come from obedience! Like a robin that is "ordained" to fly from the cold north of Minnesota to Argentina every October, to preserve its own life, so we are ordained to do difficult things in obedience to God. We will then experience the blessing of being right with God. It is a privilege, not a burden, but it isn't easy. His yoke is easy, and His burden is light!

Obedience has its own reward.

Marcus Bachmann:  a psychologist and counselor. He is married to US Representative Michele Bachmann. I went to see if he is as crazy as he's been portrayed by the media.

He's quite the pleasant, sane, and engaging fellow! He spoke on depression and anxiety. I never would have attended this session in the past, but in light of our own journey right now I chose to hear him speak on this topic. I came away wishing he could be Ed's counselor! What a balanced presentation.

John Tuma: legal advisor to MACHE. He spoke on the laws in Minnesota which regard education. He filled in some fascinating history regarding pivotal cases in securing the right to teach children at home. Most of the parents listening to him were just starting to home school. I was probably the oldest listener! I was glad to have heard him. One thing that is concerning---there have been only two primary cases securing the right to home-school. These Supreme Court rulings are standing, but in order to cement the right to home school a parental rights amendment to the constitution of the U.S. would be ideal. Something to think about and support.

I saw another documentary about "Common Core." There is so much disturbing here that I'm not even going to try to summarize!

Get a copy of  "The Trojan Horse," a documentary about online public schools. This is a topic I haven't become very informed about, but it too has deep problems which must be addressed. I hope to write about it in another post soon. I can say this---online public schools are only a machine to line the pockets of Washington lobbyists. It's a multi-billion dollar industry, tax-payer drain. People are getting rich on your taxes. Don't be taken in by them or fooled. They are overpriced bad deals!!! If you are subscribing to one of them, Get OUT! Don't perpetuate a fleecing of a legitimate movement. Parents beware!

Suffice it to say John Dewey has been successful. Dewey had a view to use public education as an engine toward social change. He was a socialist, and his views to undermine religion and family have been uniformly successful in America. There are so many documentaries and books about the success of his efforts and his initial purposes. They are fascinating accounts of the development and implementation of socialist ideas since the mid 1800's. Socialism has succeeded in the general public, and liberty and freedom have been dealt a mortal wound.

Time for the Lord to enter on His white horse, in my opinion.

The ultimate victory is granted to those who love the LORD, the Creator of Heaven and Earth, who believe on His name. The earth grows old like a garment, and the love of the people, cold.

Where do your affections lie?

Okay, It's Here

Spring has come, and summer is really on its way.

So how do we know?

Saturday was spent watching the fire and the sap boil. The sun was so gorgeous and warm that we soaked it in, the first of the year. Yes, for me, it was!

I ended up with a lovely pink burn on my face, but it was worth it!

We also got a little more than a quart of syrup, which we slurped up on Betty Crocker's recipe for pancakes on Sunday after church
.Photo: The fruit of a day's labor and a sunburn. It tastes magnificent. Pure maple syrup

We were naughty in Sunday School. Our pastor is doing a study on apologetics, and he mentioned modalism.

"That's modalism," he said, and three of us started to shake with laughter.  Here's why:

St. Patrick's Bad Analogies

The eye of the pastor was upon us, and he said, "I must have touched a nerve."

Thankfully we have forgiving churchmates. Friends that read here, I offer our excuse for our bad behavior...
 and apology!

Monday was a day for the bees.

We expected 5 packages of bees, but got SEVEN. Five were hived in the darkness last night. Two packages are buzzing in the bathroom again this year, and we're hoping someone at the bee meeting tonight will jump for joy at the opportunity to take them in and home.

If not, we must come up with the materials for the hives to house them. Perhaps this will be an experiment this year with non-conventional hive techniques. For now we are buzzed every time we go into the bathroom.

They are beautiful bees, and two lone bees paid a visit to our window, wanting entry. The glass is open and the screens are letting in a few spring breezes.

Our two other hives made it through the long winter, alive, and seem to be doing well. Yesterday I mixed up pollen patties and sugar syrup for all the hives to tie them over until the trees start flowering.

The dogs have spent time in the pen, both yesterday and today, and what a joy for them to be outside sun-bathing!

My mother had an experience of what appears to be divine healing this past weekend. Her eye appeared to have a problem requiring a rigid sort of convalescence, but the doctor who checked her before the final proceedings could find no trace of the problem! She had asked friends and family to pray. God answered.
She is very thankful.

I am so glad to be a child of God through this faith in Christ Jesus. We truly have the most wonderful faith. It spans the entire history of the world, it shows its mark on every aspect of creation, it reaches out in earnest appeal to every soul, yet it doesn't intrude or bully.

It is a privilege to adhere to a faith that exemplifies forgiveness, mercy and love. It is the most compassionate of faiths, and the most tolerant. God is so good to His children.

His Way is the best of ways, yet true to His perfect nature, He takes care that those who do not follow His Way will be punished. That is the way of Christianity, and the Word of God. It is one Way, no other. It must be followed through belief in Christ Jesus. Those are the conditions.

He is gentle in allowing the trials we must bear, too. It seems to us that we have so many things to work through, or heal from, but now matter how deep the valley, God's grace is there to compensate.

I look at our Christian brothers and sisters suffering in the Middle East right now, and I know it is awful---yet they have the grace from Holy Spirit to stand, even until the end.

One of my favorite radio people, Jan Markell, just sent out her newsletter. It's on the convergence of signs. Very exciting! The Convergence

You'll enjoy reading it.

In our school Bible reading time we finished Acts today and started Romans. Interesting to read the two parts together. Paul argues his case before Felix, goes through a ship wreck and then lays out what it really means to be a Christ-follower. In the shipwreck an angel appears to Paul and promises him in a personal sort of way, that no one with him should perish in the wreck.

How I wish an angel would appear to me, an assure me that no-one I know will perish in the upcoming judgement!  Lord, work in the the lives of my friends and family, drawing them to Yourself, convicting them of sin, and helping them to repent!

The thoughts we reap from our time in the Word each day.

Spring, Passover, Resurrection Day, ground appearing. I have been working each day on getting the fish pond ready for our patient fish. I had to remove several chunks of ice and many rotting leaves. The fish are healthy, having wintered well on the bathroom counter. Right now the bees are sitting next to them. It's like going to a zoo in there...

One more interesting thing. As you know, my husband and I are singers. We are "choir geeks." My darling daughter, Margaret, got to meet and greet a well-known figure from the choral world.

She got his autograph for us.

Can you guess whose it is?

We were thrilled! Someday it will be as valuable as J.S. Bach's autograph. I'm convinced. Therefore I framed it.

Fun days. It's spring. Time to come alive again!

Pray the bees survive.

Update: 4/9/14-----Both packages of bees sold quickly last night!  Yay!!!!

Watch

We are coming into a time of unprecedented change.

Can't you feel it?

Like never before, the world is growing agitated and restless, physically and politically, spiritually. No, we haven't experienced this type of agitation before.

I've watched, and it hasn't.

We are now in the end times.

Yes, I want to "mong" fear for a moment.

Earthquakes. Never before have we experienced so many 7.0 or higher magnitude earthquakes in succession. The charts reveal a significant increase in birth pangs. The physical kind.

Signs in the heavens: blood moons, solar eclipses, constellation alignments. It's all there. God specifically told us to watch the heavens, and they are revealing His glory, His plan.

Famine: it's coming. Four years until unrecoverable drought envelopes almost half of the United States. Bees are dying. Genetic modification of staple seeds is rampant.

Apostasy. I've been listening to a lengthy study on Jude this week. Remember, it was my book to read daily (or almost daily) last year. I never did memorize the 25 verses, but I did learn much from delving deep into it. Jude is the book that ushers in Revelation. The preacher I listened to called it the "Acts of the Apostates" in a wordplay on the other "Acts of the Apostles." Yes, it's hard to understand, because the message is referring to unprecedented events, things not to be comprehended before the right time.

It's the right time.

God, in His mercy, is wooing people right and left. He is calling the nations to repent, to turn to Him, to believe in His plan of salvation----Jesus Christ.

Scoffers abound. I can't see the news of the world each day without getting another report of mockery against Christians.

The horrors of the slaughter houses in Syria, Christians beheaded and butchered. How long, Oh Lord?

My sister-in-law, Susan Bergman, wrote a book on martyrs of the 20th century. She passed away in 2006. I would think another chapter would be added to the book since then, or perhaps a whole new book on martyrs of the 21st century would be appropriate.

We are facing unprecedented times.

News this morning is that the head of an internet programmer (Mozilla Firefox) was "dismissed," fired, for having a traditional view of marriage. Thanks a lot, tolerant world!

Losing your own company because of a holding of a core human value reeks of discrimination.

What are we coming to?

Perhaps the end?

When secret societies rule and hoodwink the rest of humanity, we watchmen, Bible believers, will stand apart, and in obvious protrusion.  If you have anything to do with a secret society COME APART! Leave your lodge or coven. Leave it before it is too late and your allegiance to it trumps your allegiance to God.

Remember that you can find out ALL the secrets in this age of internet knowledge. Nothing is secret anymore! Do a little research, and see the truth for what it is. Make your own decision. God will not hold you guiltless for following another god. That is idolatry. Start to study the symbolism of your sect. Where did it come from? Even the Church is rife with symbolism that should make all of us uncomfortable, even if it has been adopted and re-made in a Christian cloak.

Come apart, those of you who seek eternal life. This life is ending. Rapidly.

One more subject. I've been watching the developments with interest, but caution.

Fallen angels and demons. The supernatural world is becoming bold in manifestations. Here in America there is a persistent attempt to decry and malign those who believe in the supernatural. Even "Christians" have this strange view that the demonic isn't real.

It is. It is in the Practice of deceit, as well, looking like aliens, or Norse gods, or beings of light and benevolence. Nordics, greys, and reptilians----all fallen beings. All supernatural, all created.

Yesterday Bill Clinton parroted a Ronald Reagan quote about the unity of mankind being brought about by an alien manifestation. Amazing, isn't it?

Yes, friends, we are coming to unprecedented times.

I mentioned the Illuminati to my brother the other day, and he completely blew me off. Yes, we are all lumped into the "conspiracy crazy" band when you even mention the word.

Sadly, there is too much evidence to deny that the devil has his massive conspiracy in full-fledged onslaught mode right now.

Warnings not heeded will be rued in days and months to come.

We all know what is right. It is written in our hearts. We can drown it in drunkenness, medicate it with anti-depressants, shop or travel it away, or see it for what it really is. TRUTH.

There is an elitist/knowledge superiority faction that will always think they are above simple truth (the 1% if you will...). Here is what Scripture says: Jesus answered and said, “I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and have revealed them to babes. Matthew 11:25

The wise men are ashamed, They are dismayed and taken. Behold, they have rejected the word of the Lord; So what wisdom do they have? Jeremiah 8:9

God is coming. He's wrapping everything up, and time will soon cease. Those who don't know Him will burn forever. Those who chose to wake up will be with Him.

Wake, awake! The Night is Coming.

Watch and see. Repent from your sin.

1 John 1:9: If we confess our sin, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sin, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

You cannot serve two masters. Either you will love the one, and hate the other. Serve God. ALONE.
