Because He Lives!

I can face tomorrow!
Because He lives
all fear is gone!
Because I know---
He holds the future
And life is worth the living
Just because He lives!

I don't know about you, but I don't know as much as I'd like to about this Corona virus that is devastating our world as we know it.

Is it really that bad ?
It seems that unexpected people are being lost to it, younger people, older, famous...

It looks terrible over in Italy. Spain looks bad too. How can we possibly know what the Communists are hiding in China? Or what about the Ayatollas of Iran? How can we trust their word?

I know a young person who was very sick for two weeks. No apparent underlying condition. I know it has a strange incidence of spreading---small towns, large cities, back woods cabins neighborhoods...

Then you hear that we probably have been exposed to it already. You hear that it is still coming. How will my body react to it? Will flattening the curve ultimately save lives, or not?

Will this affect my soldier sons? Will it affect my kids who are still "essential employees" in the public forum? Will it affect the many healthcare workers among my family and friends? Will it affect the elderly? My mom and dad?

Maybe in two weeks much more will be known. At least there seems to be a medication that is working in some people.

We can be thankful for that.

Staying home for me is anything but a burden. I was able to finish a little crocheted baby blanket for my brand new granddaughter (who is as cute as can be :)). I am working on my studies, but I admit my brain has been overtaxed by that. I didn't sign up for all of this trauma when I started graduate school last fall. It seems that my studies are on a set path to being sabotaged.

Thankful for kind and understanding professors. Life has truly been hard, and they can see that.

Just when you think you are out of the "woods" something else creeps up. I know. It's true.

I'm thankful that the Lord remembers we are dust. He promises that. We are weak and easily fooled, led astray.

Everyday I try to get out into the back fields and walk with Corwyn. The sun has been shining and because the highway is pretty quiet I've been shocked by the frogs that have sung their way back to life after the stillness of winter. It's deafening by the swamps!

We are experiencing an unusually warm spring, but the swamps are pretty full of water right now. I'm still expecting blizzards in April, and the rule in Minnesota is that you DON'T PLANT UNTIL MAY 15!

I've broken that rule before. I think this year I'll do it earlier, if I can. The garden is so inviting, rich soil ready to go. Some of the herbs that I let stand from last year are already shooting up green leaves deep down under the dead foliage: parsley, catmint, even the sages look like they could spring to life. We'll see.

I've tried several new recipes, and Margaret made the most delicious carrot cake. She used the Lincoln Del's old recipe. It's the best home-made carrot cake I've ever had. I usually like "Key's" these days. So good!

One recipe I made for breakfast today was "Oat Health Bars" from a little Minnesota cookbook. They are hardly healthy, but VERY tasty!

Recipe:

1 stick butter
1 cup brown sugar

Melt in Sauce pan on stove, stirring until butter is melted. Add one teaspoon vanilla, 2 cups of oats (I used quick oats) and 1 teaspoon Baking Powder, 1/4 teaspoon salt. Stir together and pour into a greased pan.

Bake in 8x8 pan for 30 minutes at 350.

Corwyn is getting multiple walks these days. She doesn't even want to go anymore. Topi BEGS to go outside all day, everyday. He's a loner and can't handle all of us hanging out here.

The pets are putting up with us.

Just put chicken and rice casserole in the oven. Better check it...

In the meantime I'm humming a song that is full of reassurance and hope. He lives!

Bigger Picture

We who study Bible prophecy are constantly looking at the events of the day through the eyeglass of Scripture. We see things that look suspicious, things that look promising, things that look difficult to interpret.

There are those who scoff and say "Where is the promise of His coming?!"

I've heard that enough, even from people who claim to know Christ.

They are fulfilling prophecy by even saying those words.

If you look at the Word of God through the lens that it is inerrant, inspired, complete, and sufficient (as unto this day) and you hold to the view that there are layers of fulfillment and promises throughout the entire book (it is both a record of things past and promise of things to come for any believer) you will have both a hopeful outlook and a solid foundation to meet with ANY time you've been assigned to live in the age of the earth.

All things work together for good according to those who are IN CHRIST.

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

This is a promise of the highest order for any believer. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved (Acts 16:31).

Are you reading Scripture daily? Are you asking the Holy Spirit to show you the truth and meaning of what is written? Are you repenting from sin in your life so your prayers are unhindered? Are you daily seeking the Lord in prayer and worship?

Are you seeking fellowship with other believers?

It's really easy even in a time of pandemic. God's promises are good for even now.

Remember Corrie and Betsie Ten Boom in Ravensbruck? They continued to serve the Lord even in the most terrible circumstances.

Remember William Tyndale? I've been thinking about him lately. He trusted Jesus Christ even as he was led to slaughter. So did the Christians in Rome, in the Coliseum. Also the many slaughtered in Africa, in Asia, in the Inquisition, by Catherine de Medici and King Charles, Bloody Mary and the Communist dictators. So many martyrs over the centuries.

We are called to trust Christ even so.

What an era of innocence we have just experienced. Our parents and grandparents lived through WWII, subsequent illnesses and hardships, depressions and recessions. They have seen difficulties and adversity. Their faith has gotten them through it.

We are called for such a time as this. We are called to let our faith get us through our crisis. Can we trust Him to do that?

I don't know if the Anti-Christ kingdom is being set up right now, but it sure looks like it. Can we face the prophecies of Revelation concerning this time?

We must, and we must rely on Christ to get us through it. I'm looking up, you know, listening for the shout, watching for Jesus to catch us up to meet Him in the air.

I think of all the wonderful men and women of God that have passed away, gone to be with Him, that would have helped us see current events more clearly in the lens of prophecy. So helpful, but ultimately we have that single hope, that single trust: JESUS CHRIST.

Trust in the LORD and you have nothing to fear. Have faith as things look bad, get worse, or even almost hopeless. You aren't hopeless. Watch and see how sweet the power of Jesus can be in your moment of fear. Eyes on Him.

One more word: Always interpret current events and current powers in light of Scripture. Are you testing spirits? Are you watching for signs of the Deceiver? Thankfully if you are truly focused on Christ you needn't worry about the deceit, only if you start to focus on that instead of Christ.

Focus on Christ.

God doesn't want us to be ignorant. He's given us a picture in Scripture of the times when He is coming back.

Guess what?

It looks like HE IS COMING SOON!

Pandemic Activity

Media Hype

I'm not one to judge or even give welcome advice. I've learned that!

I would like to caution my dear ones not to listen to the steady stream of fear-mongering that is the mainstream media. They are succeeding in spreading derangement syndrome far and wide.

I listen to the fear in the voices of those I love and I am frustrated by their refusal to turn off that voice of the Deceiver.

How easy it is to forget that those figures on Television are piece and parcel to the whims of the devil. They are not objective. They are not offering comfort. They are sowers of dissent. Information can be presented in ways that offer comfort or fear. They choose fear.

There is no doubt that this Corona virus from Wuhan has disrupted the entire world. Many are dying.
We all need to be cautious and help the effort to stop or slow it, to flatten the curve.

My dear German friends are so concerned for all the cases of Covid-19 in the USA.  We Americans are used to our freedom and we don't like to subject ourselves to rules much. Germans are much better at that as a culture. We will see many more cases here in the USA than in South Korea or Germany. The USA is more like Italy and Spain with its freer style of life. Viruses like that.

We at Corgi Hollows are pretty much doing just what the regulations advise.

We are thankful to be able to outside a lot. We have trees to chop up!

Our elders are safe at home, doing exactly what the doctor ordered. We've had no sign of sickness other than the normal spring stuff.

Remember, more people do recover from this pandemic than die. The ones that die make us worry, we ask why should so-and-so pass when he seemed healthy? Maybe you or I will be next to get the germ. How will we react to it? I know personally several people who have Covid 19 and are recovering. I have only heard of the ones dying.

I hope that we all can come through this, living.

What a call to come to Jesus! Jesus saves! We are at liberty to petition Him for protection and help while facing the troubles of this day. We can trust His promises of eternal life in light of anything that happens.

Do not live in fear. Watch and wait, but do not believe the Deceiver.

Turn off the television. Bad habits are hard to break, but perhaps this pandemic is the key to doing it!

Holding On

I'm not counting the days, but it is about two weeks since our world changed.

I'm thinking it will be about six weeks more until Corgi Hollows gets to some semblance of "normal" again.

But perhaps not.

Are you prepared for global change?

Since my hope and faith are eternally anchored I can watch with interest and not fear as things develop.

Think of all the upheavals the human race has weathered! Wars, famines, pestilence. God's plans always work.

Those caught in the web of the darkness and sin are being appealed to, to come out from her.

The winking at sin and evil must stop, but we must also place our trust more firmly in Christ alone.

Solas-300x154.png (300×154)

This is the creed of the Reformation, and I agree with it.

We cannot put our faith in the systems of this world.

We are called for such a time as this, to watch and wait for our Blessed Hope, to obey our Lord and Savior (even unto death).

Occupy until He comes! I love that, and it is true. We are called to spiritual warfare as followers of our supernatural God, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

Hold on to the Truth of Scripture.

Yes, without a doubt there are very deep and murky waters ahead, fraught with danger. Like Peter we should keep our eyes on Jesus as we walk toward Him on the surface. Eyes on Christ.

Repent from sin. Stop believing the Deceiver and forsake your past. Today is the day of salvation!

I would think that pandemics and earthquakes, society upheavals and shaking nations would give anyone pause to question where their faith is anchored.

Hold on to Jesus.

New Thoughts

As someone who has watched developing events for 50 years I give myself a little credit. I'm not new to the prophecy/watchmen world.

As someone who has observed the secret societies and cabals, the dark forces at work in our culture and being filled with the Holy Spirit and able to discern those forces (pretty easily) I am one to pick up on things that don't sit right with my spirit.

I'm someone who believes in the Rapture, pre-tribulation, because of the Old Testament covenants and their significance, and because of the promises of the New Testament.  We have HOPE, not fear.

I'm watching.

Two prophecies stand out right now: the elect will be deceived, and the AntiChrist will be someone who appears to have been dead and comes alive.

I've been following the secret group that is tied to President Trump known as "Q."

I've been intrigued.

We all (now) know the blatant Satanism that has ruled our air until now. Baal has been glorified and honored through abortion, sacrifice, evil. We are not unfamiliar with the cabal of the deep state, those who are the puppet-masters, those who represent Hollywood and Music, media, globalism and power. Everyone has been alerted to them now. They do not hide anymore. Their work is truly of the devil, and we need not elaborate.

I was able to dig a little deeper with researching the fall of the cabal going on right now. You can do the same research, and you may come to the same conclusions I did.

In prophecy there is a second beast, the Anti Christ system that comes in during the time of trouble, and this system looks really wonderful. At first. So many solutions! Energy, money, things being set right...

It isn't Jesus, though. It gives no credence to God, His Word, or Jesus. It masks as Jesus, but it isn't. There are entities pretending to be Jesus. Only those who truly know God's Word and test the spirits will see that this Jesus is false. This is "light-bearing" or Lucifer, the new kingdom of the false Christ. This "christ" comes on a white horse too, but he isn't the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

This person looks so good that even the elect will be deceived by him.

But don't be.

I cannot say when these events will be occurring. I don't know. I just see things taking shape right now.

When you see evil being checked you can rejoice. Be careful about putting your trust in the forces that are checking evil. God's ultimate plans are working out, coming to fruition, playing out on the universal scale.

WE are His people, the sheep of His pasture. He has prepared a place for us, and He promises us that where He is we will be also. He promised to come again and receive us unto Himself. (Rapture!)

For those of you left behind remember that God is love, and He loves you. You need to repent from sin and cling to His word, the Bible. Don't allow the Deceiver to snatch your heart.

It is no secret that "Q" is a group of people seeking to revenge the death of JFK. President Trump is closely linked to this group, and it will be fascinating to see how this all unfolds over the next few months.

For now we have time to dig deeper into the Word, to reminisce about the olden days of innocence and purity. The virus has given us a gift of time uncluttered by the usual.

Watch, beloved.

The rider on the white horse (of the apocalypse) looks good. He isn't Christ. He brings war.

Are you anchored? Have you repented from sin? Are you following Jesus Christ? It is TIME to believe!

Keep watching.

Comfort Ye, My People

Today is a day to be encouraged!

Did you remember that your days are already numbered? Nothing can shorten or lengthen your days. We have been granted this time to give God the glory and hope in Him.

I know it is very, very difficult right now.

We've never seen anything like this, though our grandparents and great-grandparents have. This is an opportunity to see what it is like to go through great hardship.

Those of us who know Christ must look into His Word daily, seeking guidance and wisdom, comfort and hope. It's there for you!

God is in control. Knowing Him personally can see us through the worst of things. We trust the sweetness of His Presence in all things.

I read "The Heavenly Man" several years ago. What an encouraging book! When things were the worst the Lord's comfort was the closest.

It's a beautiful thought and a real promise to face the upcoming days.

New Ideas About the End

https://avoidthemark.com/2020/03/17/what-is-the-mark-of-the-beast/

I've been observing Q stuff for awhile, trying to understand it, figure out what it is, in light of the end times.

It looks like a wonderful force against evil, and it is. Yet, there is a real indication that it is part of the new system of Antichrist too.

With the extra time we've had there had been time to dig deeper.

I offer this article to interest you in digging. I'm sure many have come to this conclusion already, but it seems fear has kept these ideas quiet.

Our eyes are on Yeshua.

We're Living in 12 Monkeys

Outlook

In the netherlands of sleep and wakefulness this morning I saw a bleak scene.

All of the sadness of China, Italy, New York, clips of grief as people lose loved ones flooded my mind.

I am a pessimist, gladly, as I usually find life far better than I imagine, but my thoughts were definitely dark in my dream.

As a prophecy watcher I read about things that would curl your hair. Many people shy from prophecy because of this. I maintain that we have a Blessed Hope, and that is comforting, reassuring, necessary to keep on.

When all else fails: Jesus.

In the face of a pandemic we ALL should be questioning EVERYTHING.

There is an option: head in sand.

Here are some of the appeasements and hype that flood my mind:

Death rates, children getting bad head colds, organs shutting down, chloroquine, compromised immune systems, elderly, social media despair, lack, fear, hopelessness, politics, hatred, immorality, Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS), Democrat criminality, abortion---child sacrifice, pedophilia, Lucifer

Face it. Don't run from it.

Your immorality separates you from God. Sin is a problem. The solution to sin was given to us, a gospel that was written in the stars, JESUS, Lamb of God, slain for us.

Our sin was so bad that God Himself had to sacrifice Himself for it. Jesus, God's only begotten Son, came for us. All He asks of us is to believe  and trust Him. It is a free gift, freely bestowed.

I have no earthly idea how this virus from Wuhan will affect us. How can we know?

A vaccine is a year out, far too late. To those who mock anti-vaxxers I say watch the movie "Vaxxed" and start to listen to those millions of people (myself included) who were harmed by vaccinations. If you haven't listened to their stories keep your mouth shut. There are two sides to this issue.

I was vaccinated for small pox, for polio, for measles, etc. So were my children. I am not entirely anti-vaccination. I call for a reasonable argument against the Big Pharma craziness that stipulates dozens of vaccinations that have horrible side-affects for thousands of people. Vaccinations should certainly be optional.

Risks should be individual. We still live in a free country, right?

Freedom is only an illusion, and we are subject to the freedom to obey laws. Our country has become a cabal of administrative law, and we are in shackles. It is only through Christ alone that we have freedom, and that will be under His divine law, in His kingdom, with Him.

I see a place of pure joy ahead, and that is where my sights are set.

Whether death or rapture bring me to that fellowship with my Savior I trust His power and grace to keep me until that day.

Have you shared that only hope with someone? If you have it, have you made an effort to confess Jesus before men?

Your religion will not save you. God's grace is freely given. If you have believed a falsehood based on anything other than God's Word it is not too late to repent and trust Him alone.

I am happy to report that many in jail have made that change. They once put trust in themselves, now they see how Jesus is the ANSWER, Jesus alone.

Rules and regulations can help us, but the sin-sick soul will always fail. We need the Lord Jesus to help us, to forgive us.

I am reading the Bjorn books again after 40 years. "Papa's Wife" is a cute story, but I am interested in the old Scandinavian fundamentalism that is portrayed in these books. There is an element of respect for it, but also a realization that it had little effect on the unsaved soul. The strict rules of a fundamentalist Swedish preacher were revered, believed, adhered to------and the life that sprung out of that was exemplary.

We mock such stern ideas today.

If only we  could return to such times of innocence. The sweetness of young love, of hard work, of cleanliness and good comfort.

No. It's too late. We have those who believe in Jesus and His unchanging Word and those who don't. We have those who believe in Universalism and those who don't. We have those who compromise on moral standards and those who don't.

If your hackles are up with that last statement you know who you are.

It's truly black and white.

There's forgiveness.

There's a balm in Gilead to heal the sin-sick soul.

Right now it is not too late.

Next week it may be.

If my body is in a coffin next week you can bury me knowing that my soul is with Jesus. I stand on Christ's promises.

READ YOUR BIBLE.

Two Views

Here we sit at Corgi Hollows, in the center of the continent, far from the big outbreaks of COVID-19.

And yet we are affected, and waiting with suspense. We know it is just a matter of time before a droplet of virus comes into contact with us, and what will happen then?

We know, without a doubt, that the economic effect is real. I am not working as a substitute, nor at the hotel (much) anymore. The hotel is virtually empty, the main staff are all that are needed, except for the occasional break.

School is still happening, albeit very altered. Spring break is to be three weeks long. I'm trying to write my project. Tomorrow I'll be able to think about it, right?

I know many who have lost their jobs, even if it is temporarily. We hope it is temporary.

Actually, as I sit here I'm more sure of this than anything: Jesus Christ is our only, surest hope.

He can protect us from a severe case of the corona virus. He can provide income. He can preserve our loved ones. He can restore the country, the world. He can give, and He can take away. Blessed be the name of the Lord.

Loss is a part of this sin-sick world.

It's nice to know that we have our residence in heaven, ultimately with the LORD.

I imagine heaven to be a place of satisfying productivity. I think that there will be color and taste and peaceful joy at all times. I imagine seeing the face of my Lord, Jesus Christ and worshiping Him.

I imagine getting ready for the return to earth, loving on those horses, happy with everyone.

As these unimagined events unfold around us I am reminding myself that this is what we knew was coming. Perhaps not exactly like this, but in this vein. We are seeing a crisis unfold. We are at its mercy with no control over the outcome. We are in God's hands.

I don't know how we'll be even next week---you see older people talk about surviving, younger people dying. This virus is unpredictable to some extent. We all know that the elderly are vulnerable, those with immune systems compromised.

Ed and I were chatting about the oncology ward at the children's hospital. We speculated what was going on there right now, picturing it as we believe it may be: no visitors, cooked food delivered, incredible protocol strictly followed.

We count our blessings that cancer isn't happening right now for us. Still, I wonder about immune systems around here...

Then I focus on the Lord and His promises. Perhaps not to preserve in this life, but certainly to give eternal life. We know our days are already numbered.

God knows our days, and we trust in Him.

So, I have two views right now: some concern, some peace. My concerned view is simply acknowledging the trial our world is experiencing. I'm sorrowing in my spirit that I know people who are living unrepentant lives. I grieve their difficulties ahead, pray for their salvation, hope for their eternity.

My peace is that WHATEVER COMES we know God is in control. He has us in His hands.

When I read about William Tyndale and the many others burned at the stake with their Bibles bound around their necks I am horrified. The barbarian acts of the human soul are awful to think about. They go on in this age, horror upon horror. God knows. Justice comes.

But many suffer, and perhaps you or I will. Face it. We are not guaranteed freedom from such persecution.

I pray for the deliverance, the Blessed Hope of our Savior appearing to catch us away for the bridal feast week. "Where I am, there you will be also!" Made perfect in a twinkling of an eye.

But we will wait on that beautiful day. It could be the midnight cry tonight...

Should persecution come for us we know that the peace that passeth all understanding is ours. We lay claim to it. We know that God's grace is always sufficient.

Hold on, fellow believer. We have been watching, and we know that "these things are coming to pass."

What does Jesus tell us to do then? "Look up, for your redemption draws nigh."

Be encouraged. Be born again. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind.

Wait. Just wait.

It's happening.

Quarantine

For whatever they are worth, here are my thoughts on this most unusual circumstance. Believe me, I'm reading all sorts of things, some sound pretty crazy, some realistic, some probable, some possible.

My husband returned from the west coast last evening. He drove through Jackson, Wyoming, which apparently had icy roads. I'm glad I wasn't along for the ride!

My daughter hopes to return today from British Columbia, Canada, driving. She's in Montana right now, so we're talking a VERY LONG drive.

They were out west helping to move my son's family home to Minnesota. It's been quite the week. Moving is always somewhat stress-related (according to the textbooks). Add a looming pandemic and it really gets interesting.

Outside here at Corgi Hollows I'd hoped to wash a few windows today. But:

We have a bit of snow.

See the lake forming to the south? That happens every spring, but one of the tiles is plugged, so we think there may be big issues afoot.

Things to think about.

There's four of us in the house today. All of us have had schedule changes. I'm still working at the hotel (hotels don't close, apparently) but no school, no classes for a few more days, (even online) and my husband has also been told to stay home and work from home.

Spirits are high. We are a house of introverts, so we cherish time to re-calibrate, to reset, to re-charge.

Because we are prophecy people our house is stocked. It always is. That's who we are. We didn't shop much last week. Didn't need to. We are default preppers since Y2K. It makes sense for such a time as this.

The corgi is ecstatic that we are home. The geraniums are blooming mightily in the windows and the fireplaces are cozily heating our feet.

The cats are fine too.

Three large trees were felled last weekend before my husband left for Washington. Two mighty oaks and a massive basswood (linden). I felt blue for days, but they were rotten up the entire core, and they posed a real threat to Corgi Hollows. Those who have lived here in the past will perhaps understand my sorrow at their demise. There is one more oak that must be taken down before the wood chopping begins.

I plan to make the stump of the basswood into a seat, as our kitchen garden is right next to it. It will serve as a focal point. This is a good thing.

My husband is an adventurer, risk taker, and he had his moments of danger multiplied in the tree project. I tend to get sort of stressed out watching his calculations, so I keep my ears open, but occupy myself with other activities. When I hear a loud boom that shakes the house I run out to see if he is still alive.

He survived.

We are shopping for a wood splitter now. Four large trees are simply too much to manually split for people these days.  We have firewood, yes we do! We have firewood, how 'bout you?!

My parents are self-quarantining this week. We are talking on the phone, but we are not going over there, except to leave groceries, etc. My mom, a nurse, wants to have a baseline of no exposure. I think it is a good idea. Our local nursing home has cancelled our chapel services (where I play piano once a month) and the jail has also cancelled our prison ministry. No cases of COVID19 are reported yet. Hopefully none will be.

But probably there will be. It's inevitable. The statistics suggest it.

Our hope is a flattening of the curve, not an avoidance of the pestilence.

It's just a matter of time before we catch the cold, so to speak. How we respond to it is yet to be seen. Ten days. Fourteen days. We'll see.

I've read the "Q" stuff online that suggest COVID19 attacks those (in particular) who are users of adrenochrome. If you are unfamiliar with that be forewarned: it is a Luciferian rabbit hole. This is tied up in the biological weapons category.

I've read that it is far less dangerous than the flu, H1N1, HIVaids, SARS, etc.

I've read that martial law is being practiced.

I've read that the world is being tested for a global system and currency is going to be obsolete.

I've read that vaccinations are a part of the response and we will be forced to have them...

You've probably read all of this too.

With all the fake news out there (This virus is Trump's fault!) it's difficult to know what to believe. Really.

This is when your faith is critical.

"Religion is the opiate of the masses."

Give me that old-time religion! I'll take that over godless panic any day. Where is your faith anchored? Where are you placing your trust?

Your days have already been numbered, appointed. You cannot change that, so why fret?

I love Psalm 37. It says over and over that we are not to fret.

I hope you are finding peace as you read your Bible today. I hope you are finding a quiet game or art project to work on. I hope you make something good to eat. I hope you are praying for our country, for our world.

I hope you are looking at the birth pangs all around us and considering your eternal destination! Jesus is coming soon! Look up, for your redemption draws nigh!

I'd say the birth pangs are pretty sharp right now.

Will you survive the COVID19?

Probably. Statistically. But YOU DON'T KNOW.

I'm looking for the rapture, not symptoms, but whichever comes first I trust in my Heavenly Father.

And in the meantime we pray that evil is conquered, that souls are saved, that Christ is glorified.

Don't fret. That means don't panic. Jesus is STILL on the throne. He may be getting up to come and get us as I write this, but He's still in control. Don't worry.

We have firewood. In a few weeks ya'll come over for a real hot dog and marshmallow roast. We'll share our quarantine stories.

Are We There Yet?

We are on the road to Christ's return.

As I fold sheets and towels in the quiet of the backroom at the Hotel late at night I listen to people like John Haller and JD Farag, Jan Markell and her guests, and Gary Stearman and his guests. I get about five or six perspectives on current events in light of Bible prophecy.

(I listen to my TED talks too, and podcasts for my masters classes. I'm more interested in Bible prophecy, so I gravitate toward that as my mind gets weary toward the end of the day...)

I hear these watchmen talk about the signs of our times and how they compare with Jesus' warnings about the end times. I've been watching for years and years, since I was a child! I know what to watch for, and I can assure you that we are definitely seeing SIGNS.

The Bible is a supernatural book. It was written by the God who created communication. To see a book written over thousands of years carry a master plot line can only mean miraculous. The Bible is a master work of the Master.

It is complete, and it is enough. It is sufficient. We need no other text: the Old Testament lays the foundation and the New Testament witnesses the fulfillment.

God loves us, He has a master plan.

I encourage you to spend hours daily in the Word. You won't regret it. Few people do spend that amount of time in the Word, but if you could...

Jesus is coming. He's coming in the air to take His own, then He is coming to earth to reign for 1,000 years with us, his followers. That is all in Scripture.

There will be some terrible times ahead before He reigns on earth. God's wrath is coming against the rebellion that is on the earth.

Satan's kingdom will take a hit.

We are not appointed unto wrath. This is a great and hopeful promise. Persecution and trial, yes, but not wrath. The Church, the family of Christ, has been persecuted for 2,000 years. Some have calculated that the 20th and 21st centuries saw more persecution of Christians than any other time in history---even over the Inquisition and the time of Nero.

I believe it. I sit in my warm and cozy little Minnesota home and I don't even want to imagine the horrors of Boko Haram and China. I want to believe in my Victorian ideas and sweet kindness of Christian Brotherhood.

It's true that I have a delightful situation, and I THANK GOD FOR IT!

I am completely aware of the blessing. I am completely aware that God rewards those who are persecuted for His name's sake, too. That's a blessing I'll probably not experience (and, honestly, I don't want to.) Jesus prayed that the cup (of His death) pass from Him. He bravely faced the cross. Still, He did pray for a consideration of a way out. I too pray for God's mercy, but I know His grace is sufficient.

As we face a form of the prophesied pestilence in the form of the Wuhan virus we know that whatever happens we TRUST the God of the Universe, Creator and Sustainer. He is enough, and always will be. Our tremendous hope and strength is there for us through all trouble.

I believe this virus is only a precursor to far more deadly plagues. This one is deadly, but there are things to come that wipe out large portions of the earth's population.

Can you see God's hand in this? Can you see that He is bringing His plot to its climax? He is still orchestrating His story. History.

Are you ready?

Death is permanent. Once your body is in the grave you are fixed in an eternal state. It is appointed unto men once to die and after that THE JUDGMENT.

Be covered in the blood of the Lamb. You don't deserve it, no one does, but it is the free gift for those who believe. Repent from your sin (as Jesus commands) and follow Him.

Can God be more explicit in showing His Word to be Truth? The signs are happening, with greater frequency. Start studying Bible prophecy! It's not scary, it's hope-giving! When these things happen LOOK UP! Your redemption draws nigh!

We are truly almost there.

Sunday Thoughts

I have still to do my paper due tonight. Mental blockage today....cost and benefit analysis is just a little dry when the world needs Jesus....

I know that my blog is a "broken record" of saying over and over again "you need Jesus" but I try to say it in different ways, as I know there are too many people who are searching for truth in all the wrong places.

I was at the nursing home this morning. Our preacher, Dennis, talked about heaven. We sang old hymns about heaven, and a lovely young girl sang "Give Me Jesus." She had sung it for her school choral contest.

What a blessing.

As we left the nursing home I had the macabre thought that this Coronavirus could easily affect those dear old tired faces I see every month. Heaven is truly their only hope. They are not leaving the nursing home. Dennis and I commiserated about how the New Age is infiltrating the church. PEOPLE ARE SO BLIND! They are too frightened to call it out!

There is an urgency to our telling. This next generation simply does not know about Jesus! They have all of these strange ideas about esoteric experiences, social justice, and new age contamination. It's in the church.

Those that have escaped from the New Age are sounding the alarm! Look up Doreen Virtue's new stuff. She's been born again. She has such a testimony! Look up Steven Bancarz too. What a story!

I know it is irritating to constantly be on the watch, constantly evaluating every thought and idea!

We get worn down, and the devil knows this. He is deceiving us constantly!

Unless you know your Bible backwards and forwards and can counter parry each serpentine thought that comes your way you may be already in the clutches of a deception.

I know I've been.

It is important to know good doctrine.

It's important to realize that Jesus isn't some eastern mystic (like many of the current thought police suggest!)  Jesus on earth was a Jewish Rabbi. Now he is King of Kings and Lord of Lords, seated at the right hand of the Almighty Father.

So paternalistic!! Yes. Stop trying to redefine God.

Read your Bible (I like the KJV ) and learn of Him. I'm reading the Bible in Spanish right now. It says the same thing my English ones do.

Time is short. Seventy years is a blink of the eye in light of our world history. Israel became a nation again in 1948. Jesus is coming back to rule SOON.

Look around, dear ones. Stand in the truth. It hurts, no question. It is hard to go against the grain of the world, perhaps now more than ever. It seems we are at war even within our churches.

Check out Russ Dizdar. He has some alarming information about psychological warfare within the church. It's time to be watchful, to work out our salvation with fear and trembling. Are you in the ark of salvation, sure that you stand on the promises of Christ in the Bible?

It's easier to be nice and stay ignorant. That's for sure!

The road to destruction starts with ignorance.

You WILL be rejected for telling the truth. I've been.

I won't argue that it is easy. It hurts terribly! But some things are just so much more important. You must let people know Biblical truth.

Follow Jesus, and make sure it's really JESUS and not some spirit claiming to be Him!

Check out Johanna Michaelson's book "The Beautiful Side of Evil." Your eyes will be opened. My friend Elaine says "DON'T READ IT AT NIGHT!"

I think I did, but yes, it is a picture of a false Jesus and how well he deceived a young follower. MUST READING.

Wake up, dear one. Be filled with the Holy Spirit, born again. Follow the One who truly loves you.
