Death is Swallowed Up in Victory

Everyone should write about death at some time, if one writes.

It's a subject that we all avoid, yet it is such a part of humanity and existence.

A week ago, on my travels, I drove a country road and saw, lying as if asleep, a beautiful cat on the shoulder of the road, dead.

I don't know about you, but I feel bad when I see an animal on the side of the road----a coon, a possum, a deer, a fawn---(all of which I've seen this past week) a beautiful and perhaps cherished pet is for me something to grieve.

You laugh?

Don't. Death is a result of the fallen nature of mankind. WE are to blame. All of creation suffers, and the death we witness daily WAS NOT IN THE ORIGINAL PLAN.

To conquer death God died. He became a man, and was put to death on the cross.

He CONQUERED death, through death. Death is the punishment for sin---all sin.

Satan mimics Christ's sacrifice with the demands of his own sacrifices. I have a pamphlet from the recent (spring) Paganicon that was held here in the Twin Cities area. There is a whole workshop on sacrifice.

There is talk of the "victim" and how to perform the sacrifice. Satanists regularly perform such fraudulent and useless sacrifices because they are following the devil who mimics and parrots everything that God did once and for all.

Everything Satan does is a fake replica of the real thing. He wants to be God, and He follows the example of God, yet everything is an inverted impostor.

A fraud, a fake. When you look for the parallels you are struck by his attempt to copy almost everything God did. Christ, Anti-Christ---just for starters.

But death is glorified by Satan. He has his triumphs in death.

God triumphs over death, ultimately. Why does He let death reign for thousands of years? His grand purposes of creation and life, time and eternity are unfathomable to me. I know that He is love, is compassionate, and merciful.

The Bible says He is patient, wanting all to come to salvation.

He has allowed my generation to see life and experience His love. What if He had just wiped out everyone with the flood?

Mistakes?

No. God's purposes? Yes. He is God, fear Him. We are called and fashioned to give Him glory and honor. He ultimately wins over death, and it is swallowed up in victory.

So when we lose a loved one, to age or accident, disease or murder---we can expect it. Death is ever-present in this age. We can know that it doesn't win, for those who belong to Him.

Satan doesn't win.

Those in Christ have a hope that supplants any fear of a temporary passage. That is all that death really is.

But only for those in Christ. Don't rest in your own impostor.
Satan has got you until you repent and choose Christ.

Choose life.
