Yes, We'll Pull Out

Today the news is that the Boy Scouts of America are considering changing their policy regarding homosexuality.

As you know, we've been a scouting family for years. (Three boys, home-schooled, Eagle Scout, etc.) The projects we've helped with are worthy and the skills learned were appreciated. The camping was fantastic.

But change comes, and I think we need to recognize the locomotive approaching us all.

Out we go, as in it comes.

Too bad, so sad.

Conscientious objectors stand by their convictions.

At times there are deeply personal reasons for the actions you take, but other times you simply stand on your worldview. Here, for us, it is a blend of both.

As I see the guard change in our own troop I see that change is inevitable. The younger scouts have a younger set of parents, and they bring new, less traditional views to the table. It won't be long before the "old guard" is down, and feeling a part of that particularly means we are no longer welcome.

Changes.

I feel sorry for Ed, but it drives us to be more creative in our own lives.
